Why do we need to do a check and balance on feng shui annually?

Whether one is using Luan Tau (Landscape) or Time Dimension feng shui, the fundamental principle of feng shui requires one to divide a space into 9 equal chambers or palaces. These respective chambers will have eight compass bearings: North, South, East, West, Northeast, Northwest, Southeast and Southwest. One will then have to superimpose this simple chart onto the space of study (object). The space of study can be the world, a country, a district, a city, a home and a living room. A bigger space of study is known as "big tai chi" while the smaller space of study is known as "small tai chi".

Next, you will need to incorporate "time dimension" into the study of these 9 palaces. As time changes, the luck of each palace will change accordingly due to the change of "chi" (energy) in these palaces. The luck cycle will keep changing every 180 years, every 20 years, every year, every month, every day, every hour and every quarter hour. Since the new set of energy will only transition and set in on 4th February 2012, the best is to start displaying cures ANYTIME AFTER the 4th and NEVER BEFORE the 4th. It can be done down the road, but not the opposite. The reason is because if one tries to cure any energy before the 4th, the old energy will still get stucked in the cure and will expire after the 4th. For example, if one puts a 5 Element Pagoda before the 4th February with crystals in it, the entrapment of #5 Yellow energy would still belong to 2011. Therefore, there is no need to rush, it is never too late to cure the afflictions anytime after 4th February. And according to Taoist belief, deities and guardians including celestial animals such as piyao, chilin, dragons etc will leave the earth to celebrate in the heaven during the end of the lunar year. The lunar new year falls on 23 January in 2012. And they will only return with new energy after the lunar new year. Therefore, one normally performs cleansing of the guardians after the year ends and start to display them after the start of the lunar new year. If one does not start after the new year, some masters believe that the celestial guardians may not return to the old figurines because they have expired. Cleansing the guardians means renewing the energy with sandalwood incense smoke besides cleaning away the dust.

Analyzing the 2012 Chart

The White General Star #6 enters the center palace and rules the chart in 2012. At a glance the palaces along the east-west axis is extremely auspicious. Meanwhile, the palaces along the southeast-northwest and also the south-north axis are most inauspicious. The rest are below average.

Southeast
